A Utica man was arrested on several charges Sunday following an incident at a relative's residence in the Town of Floyd.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Sandy Circle. When they arrived, a man confronted them with a dagger and refused orders to drop the weapon.

The man allegedly continued swinging the dagger at deputies and pepper spray was eventually deployed. The man finally dropped the weapon and was taken into custody without further incident.
