A Utica man is facing charges stemming from two incidents, including an assault.

Yesterday, units from the Utica and New Hartford Police were joined by the U.S. Marshals Office, to execute a drug search warrant at the Howard Ave. home of 27 year-old Tristan Short.

During the search, authorities found cocaine.

Short was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

He was also charged with felony assault, connected to a fight at Club Toxic on January 12th, when he allegedly struck a 19 year-old man in the head with a bottle. The man was taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, where he received 27 stitches and temporarily lost vision in his right eye.
