A Utica man has been arrested for allegedly trying to rob a store at knifepoint.

Utica Police say 37-year old Brent Burke entered a market at the corner of Authur Street and Seymour Avenue and confronted the clerk with a knife.

Police say the clerk fought back and suffered a minor injury to his chest.  He was treated at the scene.

They say Burke sustained an injury to his leg and is in the hospital recovering.

Burke has been charged with attempted robbery, assault and crimiinal possession of a weapon.
