New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - New Hartford Police Officers arrested a Utica man early Saturday morning at an apartment building on Oneida St in Washington Mills. 

According to police, it was reported that a male inside of one of the apartments threatened another male with a knife and was still in the apartment. When officers arrived, 54-year old Froilan Rodriguez of Whitesboro St, Utica was in the process of leaving the building and was detained by officers. 

After interviewing the victims it was learned that Rodriguez was involved in a dispute with another male in the apartment over the ownership of food.  During the argument, Rodriguez grabbed a large kitchen knife and attempted to stab the other male. A female resident of the apartment attempted to intervene and was also threatened with the knife.

Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with the following crimes.  Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, a class D Felony, two counts of Menacing 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor, one count of Attempted Assault 3rd, a class B Misdemeanor, and one count of Harassment, a Violation.  Rodriguez was arraigned in New Hartford Town Court and sent to Oneida County Jail in lieu of $1000 cash bail.
