A Utica man is facing several felony charges following an investigation by Utica Police and the Oneida County Office of the Aging.

Police say 26-year old Osman Makic cashed a check for $2,000 at the Key Bank on Genesee Street from the account of a 76-year old New Hartford man.

Makic later returned to the bank and allegedly tried to cash another check for $12,000.

The teller became suspicious and called the account holder, who told the teller he did not write the check.

Makic then fled the bank, leaving his identification behind.

He was arrested and charged with grand larceny, attempted grand larceny and two counts of forgery,
