Utica Man Facing Felony Drug Charges

A Utica man is facing felony drug charges after State Police executed a search warrant at a home on Seward Avenue.

23-year old Blake Benedict is charged with criminal possession of marijuana.

Police say during the search, they found over nine pounds of marijuana, multiple grams of cocaine, meth, a scale and packaging material.

They also seized $6,000 in cash and a 2010 Mercedes.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending against Benedict, who is currently on probation stemming from a 2014 arrest.

State Police were assisted by members of the Utica Police SIU.
