A Utica man is facing weapons charges after police executed a search warrant at 135 Wall Street.

Utica Police say 28-year old Quintin Faison was wanted for allegedly stealing an AK-47 type weapon in a burglary in Brookfield in Madison County.

Officers located two long-guns inside the home, one of which was they say was the stolen firearm.

Authorities say an aggressive dog charged officers as they entered the house and they had to fire to stop the dog, which later died.

Faison is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon.
