Utica Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Child Pornography Charges

A Utica man who is a registered sex offender has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

The U.S Attorney's Office says 35-year old Shawn Bunnell pleaded guilty to ten counts of transportation of child pornography via the internet and one count of possession of child pornography.

As part of of guilty plea, Bunnell admitted to possessing and distributing child pornography from May through August of 2017.

Bunnell was convicted in Oneida County Court in 2003 of sexually abuse an 11-year old girl.

He's expected to be sentenced to 50 years in prison on January 10th.
