A Utica man has been sentenced to 63 months in prison following his conviction on federal felony drug charges.

According to the U.S Attorney's Office, 43-year old Dean Steppello was convicted last September of two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

The jury also found Steppello possessed over 500 grams of cocaine, requiring a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison.

Steppello was arrested in Utica as he attempted to deliver four ounces of cocaine.
