Utica's Peregrine Falcons have produced their first egg of the 2015 breeding season.

The egg laying took place in the nest box on the 15th floor of the Adirondack Bank Building in Downtown Utica. The egg laying took part in the same nest box where the pair successfully raised three young in 2014.

Officials with the Utica Peregrine Falcon Project say three more eggs are expected to be laid in the coming days. The incubation period for Peregrine Falcons is as least 33 days, so the hatching of the eggs will begin in early May.

Last year, Astrid and Aries became the first pair of Peregrine Falcons known to successfully breed in Oneida County history.

Peregrine Falcons remain on the Endangered Species List in New York.  There are about 75 pairs known to nest in the state.

Live streaming video from the nest box is available at UticaPeregrineFalcon.com.
