Photo: Kristine Bellino

The weekend began this morning with a report of shots fired near Rutger and Morris Streets in Utica.

In the parking lot of Two J’s Bar, located at 615 Rutger Street, officers found a man lying on the ground and bleeding from a gunshot wound.

He was brought to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

Two J’s was apparently full at the time of the incident and Utica Police are asking anyone with information that might be useful in their investigation to call them at: (315) 223.3510.  All calls may be kept confidential.
