Utica Police have made an arrest in a shooting that took place on Wednesday night at St. Vincent and South Streets.

19-year old Zachary Garcia-Kenyon of Utica is charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say it's believed that in flight from the initial shooting, Garcia-Keynon suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the groin area.

They say Garcia-Kenyon made his way to his home on the 1000 block of Young Street, where contact was made with 911.

Both Garcia-Keynon and the victim are being treated for their injuries.
