Utica Police Recruits Sworn In

Family and friends looked on as 22 new Utica Police recruits were sworn-in this morning in a ceremony at Mohawk Valley Community College.

It's the largest number of recruits in the UPD''s history.

The new recruits will begin 23 weeks of training at the Utica Police Academy on Monday.

Chief Mark Williams says they plan to add three more recruits to the academy following retirements at the end of the month.
