Utica Police Say Man Shot Himself

Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Utica man has been arrested in a shooting incident that happened last month at the Brandagee Apartments on Jay Street.

Utica Police say 22-year old Edwin Dejesus-Amparo accidentally shot himself in the chest.

Police say they found a handgun in his apartment along with a quantity of packaged cocaine.

Dejesus-Amparo was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
