Utica Police Warn Residents Of Road Closures In Preparation Of St. Patrick’s Day Festivities

More than two dozen streets in Utica will be closed at some point this weekend for the city’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Portions of many streets will be closed Saturday morning starting at 8:30 to accommodate for Utica’s annual parade. They should reopen by early afternoon.

Streets on or near Varick will be closed from six in the morning until six in the evening. Vehicles parked on Varick or Hamilton Streets after 2:30 Saturday morning will be towed at the owner’s expense.

In addition, Utica Police are asking those attending the parade or Varick St. celebration to not bring any backpacks, bottles, cans or coolers to either event. A full complement of officers will be on hand to keep people safe as well as extra DWI patrols.
