Utica Post 229 Honors Firefighter & EMT Of The Year

Michael Burline and Milton Reeves Jr. are the Utica American Legion's Firefighter and paramedic of the year.

Burline and Reeves were presented the distinctions at an awards dinner at the Utica American Legion Post 229 Thursday night.

Reeves said he's humbled to be given the award but there's a couple dozen others that are equally deserving.

A Utica native, Reeves is in his 10th year as a paramedic.

Burline joined the department in 2009 and Chief Russel Brooks said since then he has served as a dedicated mentor to the other firefighters in the department.
