Mello Testa was asleep at his home in Utica, NY when he was awoken by a text message from his wife, Cindy. The text read, "shooting down the street from us, we just passed it on the way to our hotel." It was only after Mello Testa turned on the television that he knew what she meant. Cindy Testa is vacationing in Las Vegas and arrived on the strip late last night.

Testa joined us this morning on First News with Keeler in the Morning to give her account of staying just blocks away from the site of the massacre and how she drove past the concert as it was going on just hours before the shots rang out.

"We just got in two hours before everything happened," said Testa of her first moments of her Las Vegas getaway. "We drove right by the concert. My cousin lives there and she picked us up at the airport." Testa said her cousin pointed out as they drove by that a concert was going on.

Testa is staying at the Flamingo Resort which is just a few blocks away from the Mandalay Bay Resort, which is where the shooter was firing from. The staff at her hotel informed them and other guests to stay away from that area. Testa will be in Las Vegas until later this week.

You can hear the full interview with Cindy Testa in the video above. Prayers and thoughts are needed now more than ever for the families of those who lost their lives and for the people still recovering in area hospitals.
