Utica Rome Unemployment Rate Down In April

The New York State Department of Labor has released local unemployment rates for April.

The unemployment rate in the Utica-Rome area was 5.1 percent last month, down from 5.9 percent in April 2015.

The state's jobless rate was 4.9 percent in April.

The Labor Department says New York's private sector job count increased by 114,400 from April 2015 to April 2016.
