Utica Rome Unemployment Rate Down In July

The New York State Labor Department has released local area unemployment rates for July.

The unemployment rate in the Utica-Rome area was 4.4 percent last month, down from 5 percent in July of 2017.

The state's jobless rate fell from 4.5 percent to 4.3 percent in July.

The Labor Department says the state's private sector job count increased by 155,700 from July 2017 to July 2018.
