Utica Rome Unemployment Rate Down In September

The New York State Department of Labor has released the local unemployment rates for September.

In the Utica-Rome area, the unemployment rate was 4.8 percent last month. That's down from five-percent in September 2015.

The statewide unemployment rate increased slightly in September, from 4.8 to five percent.

Meanwhile, the state's private sector job count increased by 115,100 from September 2015 to September 2016.
