Utica Sells Former Matt Petroleum Site

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri says the city has sold the former Matt Petroleum site on Leland Avenue to Riccelli Northern.

The company, which is based in the Syracuse area, purchased the property for $60,000 and plans to invest $2.5 million to build a concrete and blacktop plant that will create 30 new jobs.  Palmieri says the plant will also increase sales tax revenue for the city.

Palmieri said “Riccelli Northern is a very reputable company and we are excited about the positive impact this project will have in our City. I thank Rich for expanding and growing his business in Utica.”

The sale must still be approved by the Common Council.
