A Utica teen is facing a Grand Larceny charge following an incident at the Target at Sangertown Square.

New Hartford Police say they responded to the store for a report of a combative shoplifting suspect. When police arrived loss prevention staff were attempting to detain the suspect, who was ultimately taken into custody by police.

17-year-old Jazaria Henderson allegedly filled a large plastic tote bin with over $1,300 worth of electronics and clothing. She only paid for the tote and left the store.

Once confronted by loss prevention, she became physical allegedly punching, kicking and spitting on loss prevention staff. She was arrested and released on her own recognizance. She'll appear in New Hartford Town Court at a later date.
