Utica Traffic Advisory: I-790, Route 12, NY-5, and NY-49

A traffic advisory has been issued for Utica, New York this morning.

The Route 12 interchange / I-790 Northbound at the off-ramp to I-790 and NY-5 eastbound and NY-49 westbound are closed.  Signed detours are in place.

Officials with the New York State Department of Transportation say crews worked throughout the night and this morning they are just waiting on the installation of signs along the roadway.

The repairs were made after regularly scheduled inspections revealed multiple cracks present "...in primary members of three overhead sign structures" in the area of the Route I-790 and Route 49 interchange.  According to a written release the NYSDOT says that the structures are being removed and replaced as a precautionary measure.

Drivers are advised to use extra caution in the area.
