Utica Traffic Advisory for Today

A traffic advisory is being issued for Utica this afternoon.

The Downtown Ramp to Route 5S Oriskany Street East and Route 5A Oriskany Street West will be closed to traffic beginning at 1:00pm on Friday, November 20, 2015 and will remain closed through Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

Construction work is being done on the ramp. Officials expect the road to be reopened before Thanksgiving.

Signed detours will be in place.

According to a written release from the New York State Department of Transportation:

"Drivers on Route 12 north wishing to access Route 5S East will be directed to stay on Route 12 north to I-790 East, take a right on Genesee Street south, onto Broad Street East, to Route 5S East.

Those driving north on Route 12 who wish to access Route 5A West will be directed to stay on Route 12 North to the Glass Factory Road interchange, then back down on to Route 12 South to Route 5A / West Whitesboro."
