Utica Traffic Advisory: Route 12, Route 5S, and Route 5A

A traffic advisory is in effect for the Utica, New York today.

Weather permitting, the Route 12 north downtown ramp to Route 5S Oriskany Street East and Route 5A Oriskany Street West will be closed to traffic from 6:00am to 5:00pm on Friday, October 16, 2015.  This is to permit construction work on the ramp.

Signed detours will be in place.  Drivers are advised to use caution and allow extra time for travel in the area.

According to a written release provided by James Piccola of the New York State Department of Transportation, drivers going north on Route 12 who wish to access Route 5S East will be directed to remain on Route 12 northbound to I-790 East, take a right onto Genesee Street south onto Broad Street east to Route 5S east.

Drivers who need to access Route 5A West will be directed to rtemain on Route 12 north to the Glass Factory Road interchange, then back down to Route 12 south to Route 5A west (Whitesboro).
