Utica, NY (WIBX) - Several local communities will be holding events to honor our military veterans.

The Village of Whitesboro will be holding its Veteran's Day Parade on Sunday, November 11th.

The parade will begin at 12:30 along Main Street in the Village.

In Utica, veterans, family members and public officials will be remembering the sacrifices of war veterans six memorials and monuments in the city.

Ceremonies will get underway at 11 am on November 11th at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Oneida Square.

Wreath-laying events will also take place at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the POW-MIA Monument, the World War I/II/Korean War Monument, the Purple Heart Memorial Park and the All Veterans Memorial at Utica's Main Post Office on Pitcher Street.

The ceremonies will last 10 to 15 minutes at each site.

And New Hartford Post 1376 will be holding a memorial service on November 11th at 11 am. and a service at the New Hartford Veterans Memorial across from Utica National Insurance at 2:00.
