Utica Woman Allegedly Used Key to Injure Another During Fight

A Utica woman is under arrest following an investigation into a fight that occurred earlier in the month.

At approximately 3:30pm on November 3, 2013 Utica Police officers responded to a report of a fight near Bleecker and Nichols Streets.

When officers arrived they found a woman suffering from several cuts to her face as well as a severe eye injury.

The victim claims that she was approached by another woman, later identified by police as 52-year old Carmen Ramos, who challenged her to fight.  The victim said she was punched in the face and struck with an unknown object.

Ramos is facing a felony assault charge after she allegedly used a key to strike a woman, causing permanent damage to the victim's eye.
