Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Utica woman is in jail after allegedly enlisting help to try and execute her parents.

According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, 35-year-old Kristen Klaput, of Kennedy Plaza Apartments, asked multiple inmates at the Oneida County Correctional Facility to help kill and rob her parents, after holding them hostage.

Following an investigation by multiple police departments, Klaput was arrested and charged with second-degree solicitation, a felony. Her family was notified of the incident.

Klaput was arraigned in Whitestown Court, then remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of 50-thousand dollars cash or 100-thousand dollars bond.

She is scheduled to reappear in Whitestown Court at a later date.
