A Utica woman has been arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol, 27-year-old Alexandria M. Ackerman allegedly stole a public benefits card from her place of employment in the Town of Lee in May of 2018.

It was later determined that Ackerman allegedly used that card at the Walmart in the City of Rome to buy groceries right around the time the card was discovered missing by its owner.

Ackerman was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge in Rome City Court at a later date.
