A Utica woman has been found guilty of 23 counts of health care fraud and one count of conspiring to send fraudulent billings to Medicare.

The guilty verdict followed a six-day trail in federal court in Utica.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says 45-year old Bonnie Meislin was employed at Upstate Pain Medicine, which had offices in Utica and Fulton. Authorities say from January 2010 through September 2011, Meislin and Dr. Mahesh Kuthuru submitted false and fraudulent bills to Medicare.

Kuthuru pleaded guilty to health care fraud in January.

Meislin will be sentenced on July 1st and faces a maximum of ten years in prison on each of the health care fraud counts.
