Utica's annual Zombie Walk collected over 500 food items and an additional 100 lbs of pet food this year.

About 700 people participated in this year's walk, which is free, but participants are encouraged to donate a non-perishable human or pet food item.

The donations went to the Oneida Square Project and the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.

Orgainzers say they also collected 10 lbs of kitty litter and more than $300 to aid the Stanley Theater.

The Zombie Walk started in 2009 and has grown to include other activities before the walk such as film screenings, concerts, pumpkin giveaways and a zombie dance party.
