Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica Mayor David Roefaro and Utica Police Chief Mark Williams are formally unveiling fixgunchecks.org.

Uticans will be able to sign their names to a list to be delivered to Congress.

Roefaro has also written to the President Obama, urging the President to address the special interests dominating the debate on guns and focus on ensuring the background check system is preventing criminals from gettting guns.

Roefaro says 90-percent of illegal guns confiscated in Utica come from states where a background check isn’t mandated.
