Memorial Day observances in Utica on Monday will feature morning wreath laying ceremonies at six monuments and an afternoon parade along Genesee Street.

The wreath laying ceremonies begin at 11:00 the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Oneida Square and will include the Viet Nam Veteran's Memorial and the POW-MIA Monument on the Parkway and Purple Heart Park in West Utica.

The parade, sponsored by Utica Post 229, will start at 2:00 at Oneida Square, proceed up Genesee Street and end at the Parkway.

It will feature numerous groups and organizations, along with widows and wives of World War II Veterans as grand marshals.
