Utica's Veteran's Outreach center handed out Christmas baskets to 225 families in need Monday.

Director of the Outreach Center Vincent Scalise says the goal was to help families of veterans in need be able to have a Christmas dinner in the comfort of their own homes.

He said the meals included everything you would want on your table for Christmas dinner, such as ham and turkey(some even got venison) and all the trimmings. Scalise said they also handed out toys, blankets, hygiene products, hats, gloves and boots to families with children who are in need.

Scalise wants to thank everyone who donated and volunteered, because they couldn't have done it without them.
