Vernon Downs To Host Job Fair For 2014 Racing Season

Vernon Downs will be kicking off its eighth season of live harness racing on Friday April 11, and they are looking to fill positions throughout the facility as they prepare for the 2014 racing season.

Available positions range from seasonal employees to part-time and full-time. There are also positions available in the casino's hotel and convention facility.

Vernon Downs will be holding job fairs on Saturday March 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday March 5, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Hotel's Event Center.

 During the job fairs, you can submit an application and Department Managers will be conducting same day interviews with possible on-the-spot hiring.

 "Vernon Downs has shown significant growth over the past several years," said Vernon Downs Senior Vice President and General Manager Scott Freeman. "We are proud to be in a position to employ additional local workers who can continue to grow with us."

 Vernon Downs Casino Hotel and Racetrack currently employs over 350 people and is open year-round with video gaming machines, simulcast horse racing, restaurants, sports bar, hotel and new event center.
