Verona Woman Charged With Possessing Forged Check
A Verona woman is facing charges after allegedly stealing personal checks belonging to a family member, fraudulently completing the checks and then cashing them at local banks.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 33-year old Lacy Meirs was arrested for possessing a forged check.
She was charged with one felony count of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Authorities say more charges are pending.
Meirs was arraigned and sent to the Oneida County jail on $30,000 bail.
