Vestal town supervisor John Schaffer has announced he will seek another four-year term.

Schaffer was first elected to the post in 2011. On WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, the Democrat said he's running for reelection.

Schaffer served as a member of the Vestal town board for six years before he became supervisor.

The supervisor said he was pleased with the work that's taken place in the town following the devastation caused by the flooding about three-and-a-half years ago.

Schaffer said Vestal exhibited growth last year at a time most other sections of Broome County did not. He noted there are several new projects getting underway or planned along the Vestal Parkway.
