Utica, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County Clerk Sandy Deperno is announcing the first anniversary of the County Veteran ID Card Program.

When the Clerk's Office files a veteran's discharge paperwork (the DD214), they are issued a card, which can be presented to several area businesses to receive a discount.

Oneida County is the only official repository for the filing by the veteran of the DD214, which allows veterans to have a record of their service preserved forever.

There are currently two-thousand cards issued locally.
