Chances are you or someone you know has been a victim of burglary.

This week we learned of U.S. military veteran who was the victim of a vehicle break-in where his prosthetic eye and some prescription medications were stolen from the center console. We're told the ocular prosthesis will cost about $2,000 to replace.

We wanted to connect with this veteran and have him tell his story with us on WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning. The message was relayed back to us that he is a private person and didn't want to shuffled around doing media appearances. The story though was so unique, and disappointing, our conversation resulted in an impromptu fundraising effort to buy this local serviceman a new eye.

NOTE: We'll have an update on donations Wednesday morning on Keeler...

LISTEN: Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol joined us on Keeler for an update on the story -
