Victim Identified in December 2015 Weekend Shooting in Utica
The identity of the apparent murder victim in a weekend homicide has been released.
The Onondaga County Examiner's Office says 26-year-old Jamal Mathis was killed after being shot on Saturday, December 19, 2015.
Utica Police were called to a home on the 1100 block of Leeds Street on Saturday at approximately 8:00am after a neighbor called police saying that he saw a man in his yard who looked injured.
When officers arrived they found the man who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

It is believed that Mathis was at a party prior to being shot.
