‘Vince’s Law’ Creates Stricter Penalties For Mulitple DWI Arrests
A new DWI law is now official in New York State.
Governor Cuomo today signed 'Vince's Law,' -an amendment to current law that extends the time frame that three or more DWIs can lead to an automatic felony to 15 years.
Vince's Law carries a maximum sentence of up to 7 years in state prison and a fine of up to $10,000 -where previously repeat offenses might not have been prosecuted as a felony.
The law is named after Vincent Russo, who died after a head on collision with a driver with multiple DWIs.
