Waitress Gets Fired for Insulting Police on Facebook
Looks like someone didn't get the memo that what you post on Facebook can be seen by lots of people—and some of them may not like it very much.
Ashley Warden, formerly a waitress at a Chili's in Oklahoma, posted to Facebook a picture of three sheriff's deputies and wrote the following message: "Stupid cops better hope I'm not their server FDP." ("FDP" is short for, well, it means she isn't fond of those in law enforcement.) Soon after, her post had spread all over law-enforcement message boards, and eventually it found its way to her employer. Warden was then fired.
The Sheriff of Oklahoma County, John Whetsel, who saw the post and the picture, noted that the deputies were on volunteer duty, escorting a funeral for a priest. "This is what she posts and what she chooses to post during Law Enforcement Week when we are honoring those who have died in service to our citizens," said Whetsel. "I think that's pathetic."
There is some poetic justice here, as Warden had previously been ticketed when her 3-year-old son urinated on her front yard. The ticket was found to be excessive—it was for $2,500—and the officer who wrote it lost his job. Just like Ashley Warden just did.
