The Mohawk Valley Water Authority is issuing a boil water advisory for some Marcy residents, following a water main break on Chaminade Road.

Customers in sections of Fox Road, Route 291, Chaminade Road and Benton Road are under the advisory.

Sections impacted include:

-Fox Rd. from Route 291 to Irish Rd.
-Route 291 from Fox Rd. to Irish Rd.
-Chaminade Rd. from Route 291 to The Willows
-Benton Rd. from Route 291 to River Rd.

The break is isolated and is being attended to by the MVWA. Once repairs are made, customers are asked to continue boiling water for another 48 hours or until the water is clean.

Officials also say that hot water tanks should be flushed once clear water returns and to not do laundry with discolored water since the water may stain clothing.
