A Waterville man has been arrested on charges of obstructing the United States mail.

The U.S Attorney's Office says 34-year old Michael Oliver, a former letter carrier, allegedly opened mail addressed to others and kept the contents of the mail.

If convicted, Oliver faces up to six months in prison.

An investigation by the U.S Postal Service is continuing.
