UPDATE: 10/09/2013 4:59pm Jerry Kraus, Executive Director of The Stanley Center for the Arts, says that the worker, whose name is being withheld, is recovering and has been released from the hospital.

A worker at the Stanley Center for the Arts in Utica is hospitalized after he received an electrical burn while working this morning.

The man was taken to a local hospital but there is no word on his condition and details about the accident are not being released at this time.

It is believed that the technician was travelling with the production of "We Will Rock You," playing at the theatre on October 11-12, 2013.  John Fehlner, Executive Director of the Broadway Theatre League, says the technician was not a member of the BTL staff, but the man's identity has not yet been released.

 

BTL Launches New Website; Prepares for "We Will Rock You"

The Broadway Theater League has launched a new website deigned to promote teching Broadway touring shows in Utica. "We Will Rock You" is currently teching its first national show at the Stanley Theater. Teching a show refers to the first time the cast, crew and set are together in one location.
