West Winfield Man Shot By Trooper Now Facing Charges
A West Winfield man who was shot by a State Trooper last month has now been charged.
32-year old David Pope is charged with menacing a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon.
State Police had responded to a home on Main Street in West Winfield for a disturbance when Pope allegedly charged a trooper wiith a large knife.
The trooper shot Pope in the abdomen.
Pope is currently on parole for multiple crimes, including assault.
