Bridgewater, NY (WIBX) - A 17-year old West Winfield teen has been charged with DWI following a one car crash in the Town of Bridgewater early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one car motor vehicle accident at about 1:00AM Saturday morning at the intersection of Mapledale Road and Hardscrabble Road in the Town of Bridgewater.
Deputies say 17-year old Steven Holliday of West Winfield was driving on Hardscrabble Road when he failed to stop at the intersection of Mapledale Road, it's believed Holliday attempted to negotiate the turn onto Mapledale Rd, but he was unable to do so.

Holliday drove head on into a bridge guide rail and came to rest in the roadway. He received minor injuries and his passenger, a 15 year old female, also received minor injuries.

Further investigation into the crash found Holliday to be intoxicated, he was found to have a blood alcohol content almost twice the legal limit of a person under 21 years of age.

Holliday faces charges of Leandra's Law Felony DWI, due to having a passenger less than 16
years of age, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to reduce speed at an intersection, driving
with a junior operator license after 9:00PM and endangering the welfare of a child. Holliday was sent to Oneida County Jail on $5000 cash bail.
