West Winfield Woman Killed While Walking Along Roadway

Columbus, NY (WIBX) - A West Winfield woman is dead following a fatal hit and run accident in the Town of Columbus, Chenango County.

Authorities say that 50-year-old Linda Jakubowski-Decker was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Daniel Preston, who Sheriff Deputies say drove away after the accident. 

Preston was located at his home and arrested on a Felony charge of Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident, the Chenango Sheriff says additional charges are pending. Preston was arraigned and sent to the County lockup on $20,000 dollars bail.
