BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A 23-year-old man has been charged with killing his girlfriend's toddler inside a Buffalo home.

Bashar Hall pleaded not guilty to a charge of manslaughter Wednesday at his arraignment in Buffalo City Court.

Prosecutors say Hall injured the 2½-year-old boy on Tuesday. The child, whose name hasn't been released, later died at a hospital. An autopsy is pending.

Hall is being held on $500,000 bail. He's due back in court on Monday, when he's expected to be assigned an attorney to represent him.
