BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A western New York jury has found a 51-year-old man guilty of all counts stemming from a boating accident that took the life of a teenage girl last year.

Timothy Wisniewski of Tonawanda was convicted Monday in Erie County Court of criminally negligent homicide, boating while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.

Wisniewski owned the boat that the then-17-year-old Gregory Green drove at a high rate of speed on Ellicott Creek in Tonawanda while he was drunk and high on marijuana in June 2015.

During the outing, 16-year-old Avery Gardner of Lockport stood up and struck her head on a footbridge. She later died.

Wisniewski remains behind bars while awaiting his sentencing in January.

Green pleaded guilty in May to criminally negligent homicide and vehicular manslaughter. He'll be sentenced in early December.
